Tonight’s After Dark image was snapped at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where the nighttime projection show, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” is already delighting park guests each night.

The show, which takes place in the center of the park, stars elves Wayne and Lanny from “Prep & Landing.” In it, Christmas Day is almost here, but Jolly Old Saint Nick is nowhere to be found. Luckily, Wayne and Lanny are on the job, and they won’t rest until the big guy is back at the North Pole. Watch in wonder as buildings and rooftops come alive, and immerse you in beloved scenes from “Mickey’s Christmas Carol,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pluto’s Christmas Tree,” Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and more.

You can catch “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” nightly at the park throughout the holiday season....

Written by
Disney Parks Blog

In our Disney Doodles blog series, our team of Disney artists imagine what a character would do or see first if they had the chance to visit a Disney Park.

In today’s Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines Roger and Anita from “101 Dalmatians” enjoying some free time with their favorite pals at Magic Kingdom Park.

“Anita and Roger are always sharing with each other,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine them sharing a Mickey ice cream bar, while relaxing on a park bench with Pongo and Perdita.”...

Hand-Pulled Candy Canes at Disneyland Resort

Written by

It just isn’t the holiday season at Disneyland Resort without the famous hand-pulled candy canes that start to appear in windows of the Candy Palace and Trolley Treats every November. The talented Disneyland Resort Candy Makers always look forward getting out their gloves out and making these delicious peppermint sweets. From start to finish, they work to create these colorful candy canes from scratch – from mixing the ingredients and hand-pulling the candy to rolling, twisting and wrapping up the final products.

Minnie Mouse showed up at the 2017 Disney Girls’ Soccer Showcase presented by AS Roma at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex today, but this time, she upped her game for the occasion.

Minnie sported her new soccer uniform for the first time. She wore a purple and white horizontal striped jersey with purple shorts and rocked a red headband, an updated twist to her usual polka dot bow. She wore the No. 9 on her jersey, which is fitting when you consider the most well-known women’s soccer player of all-time, two-time Olympic Gold medalist Mia Hamm, also wore that number.

This year, Disney Girls’ Soccer Showcase was re-imagined with new dates and expanded to include U11-U14 age groups. While at the sports complex, Minnie watched some of the early tournament action and even spent time interacting with some of the players. Minnie was a star among stars because the showcase features many of the top high school soccer prospects in the country, many of whom will be playing on the collegiate level soon.

Look for Minnie in her new soccer outfit at future soccer events, which are listed at espnwwos.com. And check out the action at the Disney Girls Soccer Showcase, which runs through Sunday, November 26....

Each year, Disney VoluntEARS from around the world join forces to be part of something bigger: Family Volunteer Day. This annual day of service is sponsored by Disney in partnership with the nonprofit Points of Light, bringing families together to make memories and impact the local communities where they live, work and play for more than 25 years.

From food collection to beach cleaning to storytelling and more, Disney VoluntEARS joined together for this special day to strengthen communities and make a difference. Let’s take a look!

Disneyland Resort VoluntEARS

At the Orange County Food Bank, nearly 200 Disney VoluntEARS from the Disneyland Resort gathered on Saturday to pack almost 6,000 food boxes for distribution to those in need in the surrounding areas. Across the country in Central Florida, Disney VoluntEARS from Walt Disney World hosted activities for wish families visiting Give Kids the World and donated their time to work on a beautification project across the grounds of the nonprofit.

VoluntEARS

In Asia, Hong Kong Disneyland partnered with HandsOn to bring Disney VoluntEARS out to the local village Shek O for a beach cleaning and sand sculpting event in celebration of Family Volunteer Day. Last week, Disney VoluntEARS also planned games and hosted a storytelling session at the annual Stargaze Camp for All and the Blind, and even more volunteers participated in a joint sports day with local special education schools.

VoluntEARS

More than 100 Disney VoluntEARS from Shanghai Disney Resort and their families helped out in honor of Family Volunteer Day. They hosted Family Imagination Playground activities for migrant children, cheered on hundreds of families during a Family Walkathon to raise funds for the elderly in Shanghai, made Thanksgiving cards with children during hospital visits and shared Disney stories with young readers in a local library as part of the Disney Reading Together program.

VoluntEARS

Disney VoluntEARS donate hundreds of thousands of service hours every year around the world, and Family Volunteer Day is just one way we’re working to “Share the Joy” and inspire others to make a difference in their communities this holiday season....

Holidays at the Disneyland Resort is one of the most enchanting times to visit the theme parks, and also stay at one of the three on-property hotels. Here’s how you can enjoy your stay at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort during the holidays:

  1. Admire holiday-themed settings: The Craftsman-inspired décor at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa extends to the holiday decorations—from garland infused with natural materials to the soaring Christmas tree lit with “arts and crafts” motif lanterns. The midcentury Disneyland Hotel receives a retro-holiday makeover with silver trees and bright colors. And the nautical-themed Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel features blue, green and silver holiday décor—along with shells and starfish garland—capturing a beachy Christmas setting.
  2. Sing along with carolers: Nothing spreads the holiday spirit like Christmas carols! You’ll be delighted to hear the joyful sounds of carolers throughout the season at each resort hotel.
  3. Deck the halls of your room: If you’re interested in adding a bit more holiday sparkle to your in-room experience, our hotels have you covered. Packages are available to help celebrate and decorate for birthdays, anniversaries and of course, Christmas!
  4. Marvel at the “Grand” Gingerbread House: One of my favorite features at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel is the giant gingerbread replica of the hotel itself. Standing 7.5 feet tall and 12 feet wide, this delicious structure was created from more than 500 pounds of gingerbread, as well as 60 gallons of frosting and icing. If you’re hungry, be sure to order gingerbread cookies and hot chocolate from the lobby’s holiday cart.
  5. Meet Santa Claus: Santa will be visiting each hotel from November 17 through December 24. Guests of the hotels are encouraged to meet, greet and take a seat with St. Nick!
  6. Step into the theme parks: With easy, convenient access to both parks, guests staying at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort can enjoy all of the special holiday offerings, including the joyful entertainment and delectable food found at the Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure park (theme park admission required).

Click here to book your holiday getaway today! As a bonus, guests can save up to 20 percent on premium rooms at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and 15 percent on premium rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, on most Sunday through Thursday nights through December 21, 2017.* Book now through December 21, 2017.

*Savings based on the non-discounted price for the same room at the same hotel. Travel must be completed by 12/22/17. Premium room types included in offer are Premium, Deluxe and Woods/Garden/Courtyard rooms; select Concierge rooms; and only Artisan, Junior and Regal suites. Subject to availability as the number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited. Excludes applicable fees and taxes. Subject to restrictions and change without notice....
