The show, which takes place in the center of the park, stars elves Wayne and Lanny from “Prep & Landing.” In it, Christmas Day is almost here, but Jolly Old Saint Nick is nowhere to be found. Luckily, Wayne and Lanny are on the job, and they won’t rest until the big guy is back at the North Pole. Watch in wonder as buildings and rooftops come alive, and immerse you in beloved scenes from “Mickey’s Christmas Carol,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pluto’s Christmas Tree,” Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and more.
You can catch “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” nightly at the park throughout the holiday season....

Here at Walt Disney World Resort, eight men’s college basketball teams annually compete in the AdvoCare Invitational tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Other games on Thursday include Missouri vs. Long Beach State (11:30 a.m.), St. John’s vs. Oregon State (2 p.m.) and West Virginia vs. Marist (8:30 p.m.). Games continue through Sunday at the sports complex.

In our Disney Doodles blog series, our team of Disney artists imagine what a character would do or see first if they had the chance to visit a Disney Park.
In today’s Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines Roger and Anita from “101 Dalmatians” enjoying some free time with their favorite pals at Magic Kingdom Park.
“Anita and Roger are always sharing with each other,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine them sharing a Mickey ice cream bar, while relaxing on a park bench with Pongo and Perdita.”...

Minnie Mouse showed up at the 2017 Disney Girls’ Soccer Showcase presented by AS Roma at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex today, but this time, she upped her game for the occasion.
Minnie sported her new soccer uniform for the first time. She wore a purple and white horizontal striped jersey with purple shorts and rocked a red headband, an updated twist to her usual polka dot bow. She wore the No. 9 on her jersey, which is fitting when you consider the most well-known women’s soccer player of all-time, two-time Olympic Gold medalist Mia Hamm, also wore that number.
This year, Disney Girls’ Soccer Showcase was re-imagined with new dates and expanded to include U11-U14 age groups. While at the sports complex, Minnie watched some of the early tournament action and even spent time interacting with some of the players. Minnie was a star among stars because the showcase features many of the top high school soccer prospects in the country, many of whom will be playing on the collegiate level soon.
Look for Minnie in her new soccer outfit at future soccer events, which are listed at espnwwos.com. And check out the action at the Disney Girls Soccer Showcase, which runs through Sunday, November 26....
Each year, Disney VoluntEARS from around the world join forces to be part of something bigger: Family Volunteer Day. This annual day of service is sponsored by Disney in partnership with the nonprofit Points of Light, bringing families together to make memories and impact the local communities where they live, work and play for more than 25 years.
From food collection to beach cleaning to storytelling and more, Disney VoluntEARS joined together for this special day to strengthen communities and make a difference. Let’s take a look!
At the Orange County Food Bank, nearly 200 Disney VoluntEARS from the Disneyland Resort gathered on Saturday to pack almost 6,000 food boxes for distribution to those in need in the surrounding areas. Across the country in Central Florida, Disney VoluntEARS from Walt Disney World hosted activities for wish families visiting Give Kids the World and donated their time to work on a beautification project across the grounds of the nonprofit.
In Asia, Hong Kong Disneyland partnered with HandsOn to bring Disney VoluntEARS out to the local village Shek O for a beach cleaning and sand sculpting event in celebration of Family Volunteer Day. Last week, Disney VoluntEARS also planned games and hosted a storytelling session at the annual Stargaze Camp for All and the Blind, and even more volunteers participated in a joint sports day with local special education schools.
More than 100 Disney VoluntEARS from Shanghai Disney Resort and their families helped out in honor of Family Volunteer Day. They hosted Family Imagination Playground activities for migrant children, cheered on hundreds of families during a Family Walkathon to raise funds for the elderly in Shanghai, made Thanksgiving cards with children during hospital visits and shared Disney stories with young readers in a local library as part of the Disney Reading Together program.
Disney VoluntEARS donate hundreds of thousands of service hours every year around the world, and Family Volunteer Day is just one way we’re working to “Share the Joy” and inspire others to make a difference in their communities this holiday season....

At Walt Disney World Resort, we recognize the importance of taking a break from the day-to-day routine to enjoy moments of pure fun. Playtime is essential for everyone, even animals too, and we look for ways to keep it mentally and physically stimulating through enrichment toys and activities. As we like to keep it entertaining, we always look for opportunities to sprinkle in some seasonal flair – so this time of year, we spice up animal enrichment with pumpkins!
Our animal care team enjoys crafting pumpkins for play. They know how to place just the right amount of worms, bugs and such in them for surprise and delight.
These added touches make for more fun as the animals really get into these pumpkin treats. They might eat them, smash them or even roll them around for a while.
In the video below, some of our Behavioral Husbandry team explains why enrichment is an important part of an animal’s care.

“Christmas in July” may have weaseled its way into the cultural consciousness, but I’ll be turning the tables this holiday season, thinking about July over Christmas.
I’ll do this not just because scratchy sweaters make me miss summer, but also because my teammates and I will be ramping up production on the 2018 Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise, sailing July 23-27 on the Disney Dream out of Port Canaveral, Fla. We’re packing the four-night voyage with a full sea day of special entertainment and lots of surprises on Castaway Cay, turning each of our two visits to Disney’s private-island paradise into a unique experience.
Call Member Services soon if you’d like to join us.
To give you a feel for the Member Cruise experience, we put together a little “sizzle video” (industry speak for quick clips of fun stuff) featuring highlights from our 2017 voyage, from the exclusive entertainment to the in-room gifts. The Aug. 26-Sept. 2 sailing kicked off with an unprecedented Member Cruise Film Festival, featuring screenings of more than 20 films (including Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, months ahead of its release), studio and filmmaker presentations, interactive workshops and unique deck parties. Beyond the film festival, the voyage celebrated 50 years of Pirates of the Caribbean, unleashed the talents and insights of Disney Legends, presented concerts and conversations with Disney on Broadway stars, and more.
While we won’t reveal our 2018 entertainment lineup until the ship sets sail on July 23, I’ve been cleared to tell you that some really cool people are going to present some really cool stuff in some really cool ways. Oh, and some other cool people will deliver cool stuff to your stateroom daily. (Please be cool and keep all of that between us.)
If you’re intrigued, stop whatever you’re doing and call Member Services immediately to snatch up one of those last remaining staterooms. Sorry, that sounded pushy. I meant sit back, relax, enjoy the video…and then immediately call Member Services to book your stateroom. (Did I mention the in-room gifts?)...
